Happy 2021!
May joy and creativity help to transform the world for the new year!
que fait archihihi?
WHO’S BEHIND ARCHIHIHI?
My name is Emilie Queney. I am a passionate French architect living in London and I have created Archihihi in 2014.
This is me when I was 6, spending time building dens everywhere in my house:
WHAT MEANS ARCHIHIHI? (and how can I even say that?)
I know, this is hard to pronounce in English. In French architects jargon, one can say “archi” for architecture. And then, as my aim is that we can laugh during our architecture discovery journey, just do it in French: “hihihi!”
WHY DOES ARCHIHIHI EXISTS?
I believe that the purpose of architecture is to serve and give pleasure to everyone, young and old.
Archihihi is a platform which encourages people to (re)discover and reclaim architecture using free play, fun, pleasure and creativity!
Archihihi games and activities bridge architecture with everyday life and craft work in a playful and experimental way, so everyone can learn about aesthetic, technical and theoretical aspects of architecture in such an enjoyable way that ones does not even notice it ;-)
WHAT CAN I FIND ON THIS WEBSITE?
DIY tutorials to download with ideas and explanations so you can play around at home
+
Stop motion videos created by Archihihi
+
A selection of funny, beautiful and interesting stuff about architecture such as current events, books, magazines or toys
WHAT OFFERS ARCHIHIHI?
I love to design, write and create bespoke and engaging workshops, articles, toys and activities around architecture for young or adult public.
So far, I had the great pleasure to work with those exciting people:
Please keep in touch if you want to share ideas, comments, inspiration or want to talk about projects :)
Game N.7 // Fold your architecture!
See how folds change the structure of materials. As for Asterix’ potion, they give strength ;-) Continue reading “Game N.7 // Fold your architecture!”
